"Berlin Nights" are long and exactly in one of these nights JAN HIRTE from Berlin and JESSIE GORDON from Perth/Australia met and did not get rid of each other musically. JAN HIRTE has been one of the best blues guitarists in Europe for more than two decades, and has been on the stage for 35 years as a guitarist, singer and sideman of the most famous bluesartists who were touring in the 90s through Europe. As much studio experience he brings with him and that pays off.
Jessie Gordon is an Australian jazz- and bluessinger who has won several awards. At the age of 16, she began her career as a singer and since then has played in all imaginable constellations, from the jazz duo to a big band. She has performed at festivals throughout Australia and has already toured Singapore, Germany, France and Spain. Her shows have been nominated for 6 awards and she has already won 5 Fringe Musical and Cabaret Awards!
The charming Australian Swinglady JESSIE GORDON has already been seen and heard several times as a singer on Berlin's stage together with Adam Hall and The Velvet Playboys and Tommy Schneller, and during a long stay in Berlin last autumn it was inevitable, that she and Jan Hirte meet in the BERLIN NIGHTS / BERLIN NIGHTS and find each other musically. After a few sessions and joint concerts with excellent colleagues from the blues scene in Berlin it was clear that this fantastic relationship must be brought out of the dark nights of Berlin.
With MATTHIAS FALKENAU (piano, keyboard) and DORIAN GOLLIS (bass), the right musical accompanists were found and with the vocal support of the Italian blues musician STEFANO RONCHI living in Berlin the BERLIN NIGHTS became a very bright and swinging revue from blues, jazz & , Ragtime, as one today unfortunately gets less and less to hear. They form the Crème de la Crème of the Berlin jazz & blues scene and all of them have been playing together for years and know each other very well. Jan Hirte was nominated several times with his band Blue Ribbon for the bluesaward and for their last CD "Let it roll" for the prize of the German record critics. The current CD of Ginger Blues "Berlin Nights" is praised in the highest tones and rose immediately to place 3 of the iTunes bluescharts.
